A sustainable Christmas tree
Founders Frank and Alex want to get rid of all disposable Christmas trees in the Netherlands. Because every year, more than 2.5 million trees are bought and thrown away again in the Netherlands alone. A great shame! Together with their team, they hope to realize their dream by offering a sustainable alternative to the traditional Christmas tree. A BeterBoompje Christmas tree is not put on the street after the holidays, but brought back to one of the pick-up locations and placed in the BeterBoompje Christmas tree forest.

Every tree in the BeterBoompje Christmas tree forest removes CO2 from the air for the rest of its second life, and we can use that! In addition, the trees are cared for sustainably, so that they become strong and resilient. Cuttings from the trees are lovingly prepared to become an organic adoptive tree. Christmas trees without clod
Fortunately, there is an increasing demand for adoptive Christmas trees, which is great news! However, the number of trees in the BeterBoompje Christmas tree forest is not growing fast enough to serve as adoption trees. Therefore, for every tree that is purchased without a clod, BeterBoompje plants two reusable organic adoptive tree cuttings. "This option is, according to our strategy, an intermediate solution to change the market and to solve the shortage of adoptive trees."
Retiring your Christmas tree
When there is a large enough forest, BeterBoompje, like Adopt a Christmas Tree, can start working with adoptive Christmas trees. This means that every year your Christmas tree will be reused.
